Biography

Semih Eser is a Professor of Energy and Geo-Environmental Engineering and Director of the Carbon Materials Program at EMS Energy Institute. Eser’s teaching and research activities cover topics in petroleum processing, energy conversion, and energy policy, carbon materials, and the environmental aspects of energy conversion. His service to the profession at American Chemical Society includes terms as Councilor (2013-2021 in the Division of Energy and Fuels; Councilor (2010-2012), Chair of Executive Committee (2005), and Program Chair (2004) in the Division of Fuel Chemistry. Eser is a fellow of the American Chemical Society since 2014. He also served the American Carbon Society as a member of the Advisory Committee and Awards Secretary (2010-2016).
